At BITE we are committed to protecting oceans, wildlife and sharks. For every cooler we sell we promise to donate a portion of the profits to a conservation charity that is dedicated to protecting the planet and in particular sharks. Initially we plan to donate 2.5% to a chosen charity. But as we grow and become more profitable, that percentage will grow as well. So when you buy a BITE, you are helping to preserve some of the most amazing animals on the planet.
From the beginning we knew we wanted to find a charity that was making an immediate impact. And after much searching we came across The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL). And we were amazed by all the incredible things they are doing. Coral Reefs are the home to dozens and dozens of species of sharks. They are also an important part of the oceanic ecosystem. And as a side benefit, there are countless communities and businesses that depend on the health of coral reefs for their own livelihoods. By saving coral reefs we're working to save more than wildlife and sharks. We're also working to save our own local cultures and jobs.
The Coral Alliance's mission is be summed up on their own website: CORAL is a non-profit, environmental NGO that is on a mission to save the world’s coral reefs. We work collaboratively with communities to reduce direct threats to reefs in ways that provide long-term benefits to people and wildlife. In parallel, CORAL is actively expanding the scientific understanding of how corals adapt to climate change and is applying this information to give reefs the best chance to thrive for generations to come. Our broad expertise uniquely positions us to rally the conservation community around scalable and effective solutions for coral reefs around the world. Our core values guide our organization ensuring that we build alliances to find real-world conservation solutions to saving coral reefs and are good stewards of all that we are entrusted with. We hold ourselves accountable for creating lasting change and are continuously testing, applying, and sharing the best, innovative ideas for saving coral reefs.
